Q: What type of program is Sibi Center Adult Day Program?
A: Sibi Center Adult Day Program is categorized as an adult development center (service code 510) by the Regional Center. Sibi Center Adult Day Program is a structured day-time program designed to identify the needs of consumers and developing collaborative plans with goals and objectives to address those needs.
 
Q: Who can attend Sibi Center Adult Day Program?
A: The clientele at Sibi Center are adults 22 to 65 years old. Recent high school graduates are welcome. All consumers have severe to profound intellectual & physical developmental disabilities. Each consumer is  diagnosed with severe to profound mental retardation and may also have Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, autism, mental illness and have needs with mild to moderate behaviors, toileting, critical skills, communication, and socialization deficits and community integration experience.
 
Q: What are the ages of clientele attending the program?
A: Sibi Center Adult Day Program is licensed by the Department Social Services Community Care Licensing Division. The day program license permits adults to attend that are 22 to 65 years of age.
 
Q: What does it cost to attend Sibi Center Adult Day Program?
A: Regional Center clientele do not pay anything to attend Sibi Center. Services are provided at no cost Regional Center consumers. Sibi Center does not accept private pay clientele.
 
Q: Does Sibi Center provide transportation to and from the program?
A: The Regional Center arranges and secures transportation for Sibi Center clientele. Sibi Center does not provide transportation.
 
Q: Who do I contact at the Regional Center to select Sibi Center as my day program?
A: Contact your Service Coordinator (case worker) at the Regional Center. If you do not know who your Service Coordinator is just call the Regional Center and ask. They will be happy to help you. Or, we can get the information for you. Phone numbers and addresses of local regional centers are available here.


Q: Can clientele with medical conditions or nursing needs attend the program?
A: Yes and no. Sibi Center Adult Day Program does not have a nurse on staff. We cannot provide care for persons with g-tubes, colostomy bags, catheters and the like. But, clients may have seizure disorders, some pace makers, or take oral medications. Other types of medical conditions may be acceptable. Give us a call and we’ll try to accommodate your needs.
 
Q: Do some clients wear adult diapers?
A: Yes , some clients wear adult diapers. Some consumers are incontinent bladder and bowel. Others may be habit trained. These consumers have a toileting objective in their Individual Activity Plans.
 
Q: Does Sibi Center provide services to persons that are blind and/or deaf?
A: No. Sibi does not meet the specialized needs of persons that are blind and/or deaf. Contact your Regional Center for referrals to these types of programs.
 
Q: Does Sibi Center provide care for clients after regular program hours?
A: Sibi Center does not provide after-hour care or extended care for consumers. Program hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 am until 3:00 pm.
